| Do you want to write your own music, but are not sure where to begin? This course will cover key aspects of music writing in a variety of styles, ranging from popular music to jazz. Topics will include: an introduction to standard musical forms, popular chord sequences, rhythms and melodies, thematic writing, composing from "scratch", arranging for different instruments, understanding the "effect of music", the composing experience and the creative process.
Special Note - This course is open to all instrumentalists and singers. This is not lyric/songwriting course. Some music theory an asset.
